D-Day Tour Normandy and Landing Beaches : 275€

A day tour in Normandy to remember those who for most of them, so young gave their lives for freedom. During this tour you will see la Pointe du Hoc well known cliff for the assault of heroic Rangers (free time to visit). Then the excursion continues onto the American cemetery in Colleville to honor the 9.387 soldiers, represented by white crosses, who are resting there. After you will visit Omaha Beach the second of the two American landing sectors. 

This 5,9 kilometers long beach is located 12 kilometers east of Utah beach. The 16th regiment of the 1st infantry division and the 116th regiment of the 29th infantry division were chosen to attack this beach, divided into four big landing sectors.

They are named (from east to west): "Charlie", "Dog", "Easy" and "Fox". At once that the first landing crafts touched the beach, a rain of shell and machine guns bullets fell down on the soldiers. The first assault wave is decimated immediately: it is estimated that it lost in the first five minutes of the attack nearly 90% of the troops. Lunch (drinks included) will take place in a typical french restaurant. In the afternoon, you will have the chance to see the ruins of Arromanches' Mulberry artificial harbor built by the allies in les than 15 days. Then you will continue driving along the Gold coast for a guided visit of Juno Beach to explore the remains of the Atlantic Wall. Then return to Paris.
